return of the citikitty...
so today i've officially rebooted my toilet training attempts with hermes after the unexpected move about a year and a half ago forced me to abandon them. over the last couple weeks i've been slowly getting him accustomed to the insert again, and today we finally moved it up to the big boy potty. it really is gross. i probably won't be able to have boys over for a while. but it's so going to be worth it to be litter-free. i really hate kitty litter.
then yesterday i was at the (insanely crowded) post office mailing a package for a merchandise exchange (because all my christmas shopping was done weeks ago) and i overheard the lady behind me saying "i'd wear those pants, too, if i had a body like that." at least in my mind she was talking about me. i had just washed my jeans and they were particularly skin-tight. so that's fun.
i got presents at work friday, so that made for a fun day. the doctors gave me a bottle of wine, which i thought rather appropriate. and we had a secret santa gift exchange and my santa (who knows me too well) got me an amazon.com card, chocolate, and some wicked recipes i'm excited to try out. then when i got home there was a package waiting from dan. he gave me "plato's symposium" -- in greek. haha. so i'd better get on with those greek lessons.
i'm 'cited.uuummmm. not much else to report. recently finished the book "wicked" and have added "the help" to my currently reading pile. really loved "wicked," and yes i know i'm about fifteen years behind. but i get tired of stories where it's all so black and white. granted, there was a polarity in the novel, but it was unexpected and still left some things blurry. oh, and the roommate went home today, so it will be nice to have the place to myself for a bit. i think. at any rate it's 5pm and i'm still in my underwear. so that's fun.

Toilet training the cat... hmmm.... That would be cool to be litter free... it smells... and I mean even the clean fresh litter... ack. So how do you do that? Is it something with putting the litter up on the toilet??? I don't think my cat would do that yet... she likes the hole where the box is hidden...

Sounds like things are perky on your end!! Hope your Christmas is filled with great things (even if its eating your turkey and drinking your wine while sitting in your underwear all alone.) Being alone in a house IS a treat, I think. I love those days.
Move on to Son of a Witch, A Lion Among Men, and Out of Oz...the three other WICKED books. So good.
@BubblysLife - i'm using this, so far with success, but it takes a while and some coaxing. it comes with two inserts, one that fits under the seat and another that fits into the first in case you go too fast and need to back up a bit. i stuck that second one in his box and used that as his box for a couple weeks to get him used to the shallow tray, then replaced the box entirely with the whole insert, which i placed on the floor where his box was. after about a week of that i moved the insert to the toilet. it took him almost a day to use it, but he did and has been doing fine since. and thanks for the christmas wishes! same to you too! and yes, it is a treat having the place to myself.
@Viewtiful_Justin - thank you for saying that! i looked at the reviews on amazon for son of a witch and they kinda bummed me out, but if you say they're good i trust your judgment much more than random people. i really loved wicked, and i really like his writing style. i shouldn't have doubted!
@mercurialmusic - I really enjoyed them. They all got shitty reviews, but I very much enjoyed them.
